Graces began the new season against regular opponents Pacific on a newly relayed astro turf pitch at wray’s crescent. 
The match was delayed again due to the annual debate on democracy and related matters with the footballers.  As a result with bright sunshine and a brisk wind, the game was reduced to 30 overs per side.  Despite an excellent bowling start from shofiq and new boy newton, pacific scored at a steady rate with both openers sharing a 100 run partnership.  Anosh came on to break the partnership and ended with 2 wickets but the onslaught continued with Siddiqi striking a powerful 61 off 24 balls.  Pacific ended their inninings on 204 for 4.
In reply, requiring 7 runs per over from the start, Captain Shorrocks hit a purposeful 24 before being caught on the boundary. Shofiq kept up the momentum with Anish, before being the 1st of 4
victims of Siddiqui who ended Graces chase with an excellent spell of 4 for 24.  Graces falling just short of the target and losing the game by 11 runs with Abhi not out on 22.
